Most of us know that Vitamin C is good for us – we buy supplements, we consume fruits and drinks rich in it. But exactly how and why is it good?
It is commonly known that Vitamin C can help with colds. However, some studies could only confirm that extra vitamin C may shorten the duration of a cold and making the symptoms more mild only. For example, in 2004, a group of Australian researchers found a consistent benefit in adults – a reduction in cold duration of eight percent. Nonetheless, vitamin C (or ascorbic acid) is an essential nutrient which is required for the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of your body. (more…)
